Leading European manufacturer demonstrates continuous improvement in its commercial, manufacturing and operational processes
Bexco, one of the leading DeepRope®, SPM and maritime synthetic rope producers for the world’s largest offshore, oil and gas, mooring and lifting projects, has successfully obtained its ISO 9001 recertification following a recent onsite audit by the pertinent authorities BQA (Belgian Quality Association) at its production plant and headquarters at Hamme in Flanders, Belgium. The ISO 9001 – 2008 version of the standard is the most updated of its kind.
Whilst the recertification is a standard requirement for all companies , it confirms that Bexco has a quality management system of sufficient calibre to produce a consistently reliable, high class product range for the offshore and maritime industries.
Peter Van Den Berghe, Chief Operations Officer of Bexco comments: “This represents another reaffirmation of our focus on continuous improvement in the way we serve our customers with our European-manufactured synthetic rope solutions.”
The audit report highlights improvements in a number of areas. It recognised that the company recently introduced its vision and values to the entire organisation, bringing all internal stakeholders together to take ownership for quality in their own functions.
It also noted the positive interaction between commercial and R&D departments, as well as a good level of communication between the customer, Bexco and its suppliers on specification issues as well as delivery times.
For offshore activities, the realisation and follow up of tenders and offers for projects were considered to be efficiently organised.
“The report also highlighted our determination to fulfil customer requirements as the starting point for all of our business activities” comments Van Den Berghe. “That starting point is our Quality Management System which not only works, but is also one which is constantly improved upon by our team.”
